About
Gregg Fergus
Gregg Fergus joined the Board of Humin in 2022 to support Richard J. Davidson and the Humin team in advancing science-based wellbeing solutions to communities worldwide at scale. Having personally experienced the Healthy Minds Program and Meditation App, Gregg recognized the transformative potential of the platform after meeting with Dr. Davidson, and has since leveraged his extensive experience scaling healthcare companies to provide strategic leadership and operational expertise to support Humin’s growth and impact. With deep expertise across the life sciences sectors, including genomics, proteomics, drug development, medical technology, diagnostics, and agriculture, Gregg has founded or served on the boards of numerous companies, including Ascertain, Neuvivo, Cernostics, PFS Genomics, Celsee, and Igenomix. From 2012 to 2020, Gregg served as Chief Executive Officer of 4Catalyzer, a Guilford, Connecticut based startup accelerator dedicated to democratizing healthcare and maximizing societal impact, where he helped launch, fund, and support groundbreaking companies including Butterfly Network, Quantum-Si, and Hyperfine. Prior to this, Gregg was President and Chief Operating Officer of Ion Torrent, where he helped pioneer a novel semiconductor-based DNA sequencing platform that was ultimately acquired by Life Technologies. Earlier in his career, he served as Executive in Residence at RW Baird / Baird Venture Partners, contributing to investment thesis development, deal flow, and industry partnerships within the life sciences tools market, and played a role in raising BVP Fund III, and also held executive leadership roles as Chief Commercial Officer of Cellular Dynamics International and Senior Vice President of Sales and Global Operations at Affymetrix, Inc..
Complementing this professional journey, Gregg earned his degree in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of AIQ Solutions, Aqtual, Verda Bio, and UserCue, and is also a Trustee of the Morgridge Institute for Research and serves on the Board of Visitors for the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.
